  • 1 thing you want someone new to CrossFit to know: CrossFit is not just a place you go to workout. It's a community of people who have a common interest- becoming the best version of themselves. Athletes will cheer you on and encourage you to keep going and you do the same for them. Most members of CFBD did not know each other before joining but you would think they have been friends for years!

  • Your goal for coaching CFBD athletes: Help athletes reach their own goals as well as encouraging them to prove themselves. They can do more than they think!

  • One thing everyone should know about you: I was stationed in England when I was on Active Duty with the US Air Force and had a great time traveling.

  • One thing you want someone new to CrossFit to know: CrossFit is scalable for all individuals. Even though I've done CrossFit for many years, I still scale workouts. It's about becoming a better you. The challenges in our daily life seem less significant after a tough CrossFit workout.

  • 1 thing you want someone new to CrossFit to know: 1a) You will have the best hour of your day,1b) You will make awesome workout buddies, 1c) Bored? Not anymore. CrossFit is constantly varied and there are always new goals to set and achieve, 1d) You will learn proper form, 1e) Everything can be scaled and modified. You will see all ages, abilities and experiences levels, 1f) But that doesn’t mean you won’t look damn good. If you work hard, you will see results! 


Ben- Coach

  • Sports/Fitness Background: Fan of all things that have a healthy sense of competition. Grew up playing basketball, soccer and baseball and then played College Level Soccer at Western New England College (Now WNU). Now I do CrossFit and actively play golf.

  • ​Favorite moment in your CrossFit Career: When I got my first ever muscle up.  Sitting at the top of the rings and thinking “did that finally just happen”.
  • ​Your goal for coaching CFBD athletes:  Understanding each individual athlete while sharing the knowledge I have gained as an athlete myself over the years and as a coach in fitness, life and work.  It all seems to blend together!
  • One thing everyone should know about you:  I love designer burgers and and hotdogs.  I made my own hamburger called the JYD (Junk Yard Dog)
